Beyond the concert hall

Alongside his work on the operatic and concert stage, Chen performs regularly for audiences outside the concert hall — in senior living communities, universities, and research institutions across Massachusetts, and previously in schools and churches in Guangzhou, China. These programs pair repertoire from the Baroque through the contemporary with spoken introduction, bringing the countertenor voice to listeners who may be encountering it for the first time.
